Elections and budget approval are next month for our 2027 Board of Directors. Members should watch for an email announcing the upcoming slate of officers.
As a reminder, members can find additional announcements in the upcoming newsletter.
Program: Quilting Approaches — Hand Quilting (Marianne D.), Domestic Quilting (Carah G.), Seated Longarm Quilting (Marty S.), Standing Longarm Quilting (Amber G.)
Four CMQG members participated in a panel discussion led by Alice M. about different quilting methods. The panelists shared what they enjoy about their quilting methods, tools and techniques they find helpful, challenges they have encountered, and how their quilting choices affect the finished quilt.
Marianne D. discussed how batting, needles, and thimble fit influence hand quilting.
Carah G. spoke about choosing fabric, thread, batting, and machine feet for quilting on a domestic machine.
For seated longarm quilting, Marty S. emphasized drawing, doodling, and practice to build muscle memory and develop an individual quilting style.
Amber G. shared educational resources, equipment recommendations, and machine-maintenance practices for standing longarm quilting.
