CMQG September 2025 Meeting Notes

The Corvallis Modern Quilt Guild (CMQG) Monthly Meeting began at 7pm September 11, 2025, as an in-person only meeting at the Corvallis Museum with Colleen Powers presiding. Forty members and one guest attended.

All Members Group

There are still about 10 members who are not in the All Members Group. It is important to be a member since some important information, and some interesting guild chit-chat occurs in in that service. Contact Colleen if you need help getting into the group.

Coupon in All Members Group

Colleen posted in our All Members Group, a Quiltfolk coupon good until Sept 30, worth 15% off on their products.

Program

Colleen and Alice Marshall led this month’s program which was devoted to Creativity Jumpstart. We broke up into groups of three and four and brainstormed ideas for completing Izzy’s quilt, and for making the Women in Agriculture challenge quilts. Lots of very creative ideas came out of this exercise.

Get ’Er Done:

Two people had Get ’Er Done projects completed. Members can still sign up. There is no cost. Next month’s number is seven, due at the October meeting.

Scrappy Triangle Challenge

Candy finished her triangles and put them into a quilt.

Show and Tell

Nineteen items were shown in the Show and Tell.

Donation Quilts

Ten donation quilts were displayed. Thirty quilts were completed in August. Meike leads this project.

October meeting

This is our annual business meeting in which we elect officers for the upcoming year, and give a financial report. All the existing officers are running again, except Joyce, the membership chair. Susan Sage will be running for that office. Sheila will be making a presentation.

Guild Fabric Sale

This will be on Sept 27 at Meike’s home. The guild will sell its excess donation quilt kits and fabric that has been donated to the guild. Members can set up their own tables at this event and sell their extra fabric or sewing items and make a small donation to the guild.

Fall 2025 Retreat

This spring retreats have been a big success, so we want to try one in the fall. The date depends on the availability of the CPI facility. We would like Oct 18-19.
