December 2024

The December meeting of the Corvallis Modern Quilt Guild (CMQG) was held at the Corvallis Museum. The monthly meeting was called to order by President Colleen Powers at 6:30 pm with 33 members in attendance.

Program:

Colleen Powers warmly welcomed the club members to the December CMQG meeting. There were no guests or new members in attendance to be introduced. The evening activity was a holiday party and potluck for members. Hostesses for the event were Colleen Powers, Alice Marshall, Alice Morrow and Michele Holcombe. During the evening, members enjoyed appetizers, a main course and dessert. In addition, the members participated in a bingo activity with poinsettias for prizes, a Get-to-Know-You activity and enjoyable conversation.

Elfster Exchange:

The fourteen participants in the Elfster Exchange shared their gifts of table runners with their secret guild member. All the members enjoyed viewing the wide variety of creative table runners.

Mystery White Elephant Gift Exchange:

Following the Elfster exchange, a mystery white elephant gift exchange was held. Over twenty guild members participated in the holiday activity. A quilting related poem was read while members standing in a circle passed the gifts around the circle. Whatever gift the member held at the end of the reading of the poem was that person’s gift to open and enjoy.
