Coming Home: The Seasons of Life
A little clarification after last night's meeting! I realized from some of our conversations that a few of the choices for my block exchange weren't as obvious in my original post as I'd intended. So I've simplified the information here—and I made some additional sample blocks to show you the possibilities.
The most important thing: Make a scrappy block with a solid red house in the center, choose any one of the four seasons for your color inspiration, and and I'd appreciated it if you sign your block with your first and last name.
And if one little 6½" block doesn't use enough scraps for you, feel free to make more than one—you could even make all four seasons! See attached instructions for more details--added house template.

Coming Home — Letting the Ideas Take Shape
I've put all of the Coming Home: The Seasons of Life blocks I received up on my design wall, where I can enjoy them and let ideas for the quilt take shape over time. It's such a pleasure seeing everyone's different interpretations of the theme together!
I've reached out to a few makers to ask which season they had in mind for their blocks. I'm considering an arrangement where the seasons gradually flow into one another, and I want to honor each maker's vision rather than assume a season based on their fabric choices.
Unlike many of the wonderful donation quilts made from our exchange blocks, I'm planning to keep this one as a personal memento of this year, the creativity we've shared, and the close of my time as guild president. It feels like a lovely way to remember this chapter.
As I mentioned at our meeting, I won't be piecing the blocks together anytime soon. So, for anyone who had intended to make a block for me but didn't get to it, please know there's still time if it's something you'd enjoy doing. Absolutely no expectation or obligation! I'm already delighted with the blocks I've received.
In the meantime, I hope everyone is enjoying Lisa's exchange this month. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone creates!
